BHADERWAH,JAN 04 (KNO) : In order to work out the strategy for forthcoming programmes, particularly to gear up for the Panchayat elections, an emergency meeting of PDP was held in Bhaderwah under the chairmanship of its general secretray Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal who asked party workers to gear up for the upcoming panchayat elections and 'ensure the PDP ' overwhelming victory' keeping in view the various works done for Bhaderwah by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti which included sub district status to Bhaderwah . He urged upon the people to elect honest and dedicated persons and focus on the development of Bhaderwah .He also threw light on the various developmental works initiated by former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed for the over all development of Bhaderwah which included opening up of Bhaderwah campus and tourism development authority .He said the honest and sincere candidates would have to share the responsibility of strengthening the democratic institutions such as the panchayats by 'involving themselves fully in these institutions with great wit and ensure development of the people'. He also lashed out at Congress for hatching conspiracies against Bhaderwah by opposing the sub district status .On the occasion senior Congress leader and Ex Sarpanch Sangri Panchayat Kashmir Singh , Congress Youth leader Sartingal Shaid Magray along with dozens of Congress workers joined PDP .Zonal president Bhaderwah zonal general secretary Thakur Yudvir Singh , Irshad Ahmed Laway , Chuni Lal Charak , Tahseen Dev , Rafiq Bhagwan , Mohd Ramzan Bhat and other also spoke on the occasion (KNO)
